Amy Santus, LMSW, CCM, CBIS (Texas)
Amy Santus graduated with a Bachelors of Social Work from Central Michigan University and a Masters of Social Work from Wayne State University. She is a Licensed Master’s level Social Worker in Michigan and Texas, a Certified Brain Injury Specialist, and a Certified Case Manager. Amy currently serves as Vice President to the Brain Injury Alliance of Texas. She has been providing case management for clients ranging from pediatric to the elderly since 2005. She specializes in brain injury rehabilitation, assisting both her clients and their families through the recovery process. Amy also has a passion for geriatric care management, ensuring quality care at home. Amy enjoys running, sports and all the outdoor activities Texas has to offer. Upon moving to Texas Amy rejoined the team so that she could offer quality case management to Texas residents.
Barb Rustowicz, RN, BSN (Michigan)
Barb graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Northern Michigan University and is a Registered Nurse. Before coming to Feinberg Consulting, Barb worked as a Field Nurse at the Visiting Nurses Association of Southeast, MI for over 25 years. She was also a Field Teacher and Team Leader. Barb enjoys biking, crafting and reading. Barb came to Feinberg Consulting because, “It’s foundation and principles are what I have always based my nursing career on: integrity, compassion and patient advocacy.” In the future Barb hopes to further her education in Case Management and continue to promote client advocacy.
Caitlin Hartman, RN, BSN (Michigan)
Caitlin is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Western Michigan University. She has Case Management experience with adult catastrophic claim injuries, including Traumatic Brain and spinal cord Injury and development of Medical Cost Projections. She is able to assist with insurance and benefit claims with a focus on quality and cost efficiency. She has excellent personal, communication, and critical thinking skills and is able to assess difficult situations and provide strong patient advocacy. She also has experience as a medical/surgical floor nurse as well as medical case manager. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her 2 dogs. Caitlin joined Feinberg Consulting as a Catastrophic Case manager to become a strong client advocate and to help people in difficult situations.
Corey Green, RN, CCM (Michigan)
Director of Case Management Education and Training
Corey has extensive experience in health care including clinical nursing and case management. She has spent time in both the clinical and hospital setting, as well as with the insurance industry and with auto no-fault, worker’s compensation cases. Her areas of expertise include orthopedics, cardiology, gerontology, oncology, rehabilitation, medical/surgical and neurology, spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries. She has also served as a clinical preceptor for new colleague orientation and clinical training. Corey’s focus is on assisting clients and families navigate the complexities of the Michigan no-fault system. She takes the guesswork and frustration out of making the tough decisions regarding their care, which bring the client and their family a greater sense of security. Key to Corey’s care management style is connecting Feinberg Consulting’s clients who have medically complex cases with specialists who can attend to their care with specific expertise.
Dana Dickson, RN, BA, CCM (Florida)
Dana is a Registered Nurse with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Gwynedd Mercy College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Muhlenberg College. Dana became a Certified Case Manager in 2005. Her background includes a unique combination of experience in mental health services, clinical nursing and case management. Dana’s strengths include her ability to thoroughly assess a situation in order to identify unmet needs and develop a plan to address/resolve those needs. She has extensive experience with an array of populations, ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. Dana is able to easily establish a rapport with Clients, families and Providers in order to ensure quality outcomes in an efficient manner. In her spare time, Dana enjoys reading, walking the beach and kayaking.
Diane E. Sasson, MHA (Michigan)
Diane specializes in geriatric care management, assisting older adults with the challenges of transitional care and medical monitoring. She is a strong resource for families as they remain connected to their loved ones, even over the distances that may separate them. Diane has experience working in hospital, private duty and nursing home environments, and has a special understanding of the hospice alternative. Diane has a lot of experience in the home health care and mental health fields. She is an associate member of National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Management and she holds a Masters in Health and Human Service Administration. Diane serves her community as an active member of the social action committee in her synagogue. She is also an avid reader. Diane chose to lend her expertise to Feinberg Consulting because “care management offers a positive combination of social work, advocacy, and physical and mental health services to my clients.” She assists families through mediation when challenging dynamics may affect the process of treatment. In this way, she brings about a greater quality of life for everyone. Diane also serves as Feinberg Consulting’s community liaison, working collaboratively with other service providers.
Eileen Tollefson, RN (Florida)

Eileen Tollefson has been active in the healthcare field for 25 years focusing on elder advocacy and services. Eileen’s professional experience includes clinical operations and marketing executive experience both regionally and nationally. Eileen has employment experience as an Administrator for one of the nation’s largest home care organizations. Eileen has conducted programs to educate caregivers and seniors and is a certified Alzheimer’s trainer in the State of Florida. Eileen resides in Boca Raton, Florida and is the mother of three adult children and five marvelous grandchildren. Eileen currently serves as a founding member of the St. Jude’s Hunger Committee for the past 30 years reaching out to the poor and indigent in the local area and internationally. She passes this passion for caring to her daughter, Amber, who has founded The Give N Go Project.Org providing soccer equipment and professional training to children in the US and third world countries. Eileen comes to Feinberg Consulting due to her passion of advocacy, seniors, and disabled individuals to facilitate a higher quality of life. Her hobbies include baking, home decorating and travel.
Jeffrey Mark, NHA, MS, CCM, CDMS, RRT (Florida)

Jeffrey Mark has a Master’s of Science in Science Systems Management and a Bachelor’s of Professional Studies Health Services Management. He is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Assisted Living Director, Certified Case Manager, Certified Disability Management Specialist, and Registered Respiratory Therapist. Jeffrey has a broad range of experience in the healthcare arena including case management for seniors and catastrophically injured clients, marketing, and administration within a nursing home and a hospital. He is a member of several professional organizations including, the Brevard Assisted Living Association, Florida Assisted Living Association, Brevard Association of Human Services, National and Florida Geriatric Care Management Association, and serves on the Board at Space Coast Guardianship Association. He also is a certified advocate with State of Florida AARP, local Beachside AARP chapter president, and a legislative coordinator for the county. Jeffrey joined Feinberg because he wants to expand his expertise with catastrophically injured clients with a national leader and make a major impact on the optimal quality of life for clients in a team environment. In his free time, Jeffrey likes to grow his faith, play golf, enjoys water activities, music and dancing.
Jerri Osborne, RN, CLCP, CCM (Michigan)
Jerri has extensive experience in hospital, private consulting and home health care arenas. She assists elder care clients and their families with creating safe “aging in place” environments in their own homes, lending an added level of security and familiarity to their quality of life. She is a certified life planner, certified legal nurse and has served as an emergency department nurse, charge nurse and preceptor. Jerri specializes in problem identification, intervention strategies and outcome analysis, bringing comfort and clarity to her clients and their families. She is also proficient in medical review and treatment planning. Jerri creates individual care plans that focus on the specific needs of her clients, utilizing her experience as an ER nurse to follow them from Hospital to complete rehabilitation, toward the best possible outcome. She has a strong ability to break down complex medical issues for her Feinberg Consulting clients in a way that is easy to understand for both the client and their families. In particular, Jerri serves spinal cord injured clients of all ages by identifying and locating adaptive equipment and home modifications to improve their quality of life.
Jo A. Newsbaum, RN, CCM (Michigan)
Jo’s extensive experience in health care includes intensive care unit nursing, oncology, elder care and home care. She has a strong background and working knowledge of Michigan no-fault law. Jo is proficient in her communication with clients, families and providers. Prior to working with Feinberg Consulting, she specialized in medical cost containment and hospital bill review. Jo has served in hospital, nursing home and insurance environments with strong success in each. She advocates for her client’s needs in the catastrophic injury and elder care arena. Today, Jo serves the clients and families of Feinberg Consulting with a special vision to “look outside the box” and discover alternative modalities for spinal cord and traumatically brain injured individuals. She makes connections between holistic healing practices and traditional medicine in order to bring about the greatest medical improvement for her clients.
Karri Dotstry, RN, BSN (Michigan)
Karri has a wide range of work experience as a Registered Nurse to include; working on a medical-surgical and critical care unit, a nurse educator at a major health system, and a house supervisor. Karri has also taught at a local college in the Nursing and Medical Assistant curriculum for eight years. She is a member of MADD, and has been awarded the National All Star Honor. She volunteers her time with an association that works with young women between the ages of 18 and 22 years old, and aids in the fund raising for these young women who need help with education, housing, and medical care. She also can be found on a volleyball court in multiple leagues with friends and family and loves to water ski and swim whenever possible. Her passion for Care Management allows her to serve a population of people that really need an advocate to guide them through the health care system to regain their independence and health. She works hard to make sure that everything has been done within the scope of practice to help them navigate the healing process. She understands the family centered approach to care when an individual is injured and needs a strong advocate with a compassionate and empathetic style.
Kathy Merillat, RN, BSN, CCM, CBIS (Michigan)
Kathy is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) with extensive experience in a hospital setting. She also has specializations in the areas of orthopedics, neurosurgery, geriatrics, CVA/renal medicine, diabetes and as a hospital staff registered nurse. Kathy has extensive knowledge with both clinical and community resources for both catastrophic and elder care clients. She has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, superior critical thinking and assessment skills, and produces strong patient advocacy for families while maintaining cost effectiveness. Kathy is a member of CMSA and the Brain Injury Association. In her free time, Kathy enjoys outdoor sports and boating. Kathy was excited about joining Feinberg Consulting because “I wanted something more challenging than the inpatient setting. I like working with the catastrophic injured client with complex needs.” Kathy has a large knowledge base and a special cognitive flexibility which gives her the ability to individualize a specific care plan to bring about the greatest medical improvement. She focuses on the needs of the client without judging their illness or behavior. She keeps her focus client centered which also brings benefit to the family.
Lisa M. Thomas, RN, BSN (Michigan)
Lisa graduated with a Bachelors or Science in Nursing from Oakland University and also received a Bachelors in Health Care Services Administration from Davenport University. She has a broad base of experience ranging from benefit administration, insurance sales and medical claims auditing. Lisa enjoys reading, cooking, listening to 50s and 60s music and spending time with her family. Lisa came to Feinberg Consulting because she wanted to make a difference in the lives of individuals who are unable to advocate for themselves and their loved ones. In the future Lisa would like to pursue a Masters degree in Nursing and to become a published author.
Lynn Uveges, RN, CCM (Michigan)
Lynn Uveges has extensive professional experience as a nurse care manager in hospital settings and external case management for all ages. She provides excellent assessment and development of care plans for the elderly, mentally ill, and those with chronic illnesses, along with crisis management for the clients and their families. She has served as a Director of Clinical Operations, a Manager of Quality for Case Management and Patient safety, and a Staff RN. Lynn is a certified case manager with a passion for helping those in need. “I joined Feinberg Consulting because of Feinberg’s excellent reputation in providing quality case management services and my passion for client advocacy fits well with Feinberg’s guiding principles.” In her spare time she enjoys gardening, traveling, and the being outdoors. She hopes to be able to positively impact the lives of her clients.
Marcia Baker, MSW, LCSW, CCM (Florida)
Marcia has considerable social work experience, including affiliations with medical centers, trauma centers, intensive care units, acute care units and hospital emergency rooms. She is a Certified Geriatric Care Manger and is a member of the National Association Social Workers, the Florida Behavioral Analysts Association and the National Geriatric Care Management Association. Marcia is a Guardian Ad Litem for the Florida Polk County 10th District. She has also served as a consultant for an arthritis support group. Marcia also has experience with the development of interdisciplinary treatment plans, and as the chief of services for Navy Family Services where she provided individual and marital counseling to service members and their families. Marcia’s assessment skills give her the ability to offer many different options for care planning. Her clear understanding of medical procedures and close relationships with medical professionals helps her explain to her client’s procedures and treatments in plain language as she removes the fear and anxiety. Marcia also assists clients in transition from hospital to home, helping them smoothly move through the steps of their treatment. She supports clients who may need care while in rehabilitation settings, while incarcerated and the elderly, as they transition from independent to assisted living.
Margo Smith Beauregard, MS, OTR/L, CCM, CBIS (Michigan)
Margo graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy and M.S. from Wayne State University. She is a registered occupational therapist, certified case manager and certified brain injury specialist with extensive experience working with people who have a wide range of challenges. Her past professional roles include director of therapy services, occupational therapy consultant and school therapist. As a home accessibility consultant, she works with her clients to provide individualized and creative yet practical solutions that allow them to live safely in their homes. As a case manager, she believes in establishing strong relationships with clients and their families as well as the professionals and providers who are involved in their care. Her services are driven by fierce advocacy, strong professional values and a belief in doing what is right for the person. Margo is a member of the Case Management Society of America and Detroit Chapter, Michigan Occupational Therapy Association, and American Occupational Therapy Association. In her spare time, Margo is obsessed with her garden and enjoys precious time with her family. “Case management provides a unique way for me to apply many years of knowledge, experience and professional connections in ever changing situations.”
Maya Volny Sternberg, LMSW (Michigan)
Maya has several years of experience in rehabilitation and home care settings, assisting clients with supportive counseling, long term planning, and education regarding community services. She has special experience working with acutely and chronically ill clients and those with brain injuries to assist with their adjustment to illness or injury. Maya has counseled chronically and terminally ill patients regarding end-of-life issues and works with their families to assist with the adjustment to their loved one’s deterioration of health with kindness and dignity. Maya is fluent in Russian. Maya has recently moved to Michigan from New York and is very excited to have joined the Feinberg Consulting team of Care Managers in advocating for individuals with brain injuries and the elderly.
Meg L. McCollister, MA, LPC, CVE, CCM (Michigan)
Meg is responsible for vocational management of injured workers and individuals who are disabled as a result of automobile accidents and workers compensation. She researches and provides information on a client’s ability to work, types of jobs that can be performed, labor market analysis and wages. She specializes in the design and implementation of rehabilitation plans, and provides career counseling to adults in the process of transition. Meg has extensive experience as a rehabilitation consultant, career counselor, vocational counselor, and vocational evaluator. She has worked with Oakland University and Jewish Vocational Services. Meg is a member of the Brain Injury Association, National Rehabilitation Association, Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment Association, and the American Association of Counseling and Development. She is active in her son’s school volunteering for academic and sports activities. Meg is also active in the church her family attends, participating in various activities. When away from the Feinberg Consulting offices, Meg enjoys travel, boating, golfing, sewing, gardening, cooking/baking, and spending time with family and friends. Meg was most interested in joining Feinberg Consulting because “I enjoy working with people and wanted to make a difference in their lives and assisting them in vocational planning and making choices regarding future goals.”
Mercedes Bailey, RN, BA, CCM (Michigan)
Mercedes has a variety of clinical medical experience including critical care, emergency room, physician offices, and Medicare Case Management. She also has experience in Home Health Care concentrating on the wellbeing of the Geriatric population. Working in quality improvement is also a passion with Mercedes. She sees how critical it is to review and improve processes that have an impact on improving healthcare. Having the passion to improve a client’s healthcare is a primary goal for Mercedes, as she says, “I became a nurse to make a difference in the lives that I touch.” Mercedes has excellent communication skills including listening to her clients which allow her to gather the most crucial information in initiating and managing a medical plan to provide her clients with an optimum outcome.
Michele Navarre, LMSW (Michigan)
Michele is licensed in social work at the Master’s level, and also holds a Master of Arts in pastoral ministry with a focus on hospice and palliative care. She has had several years of experience in hospital-based psychiatric settings and is skilled in working with families, individuals, groups and the multidisciplinary teams. Michele has special expertise with assessing, coordinating and planning for the elderly, ill, disabled, incapacitated, or mentally and emotionally challenged regarding placement recommendations and coordination of medical services. Michele offers a calm and warm presence for those experiencing crisis. Her strong assessment skills and understanding of how people cope spiritually helps the clients of Feinberg Consulting holistically, as she assists them in moving their lives forward with a flow toward independence and strength.
Nancy P. Cotter, BS, CBIS (Michigan)
Nancy’s expertise is focused as a coordinator for development, implementation and monitoring of education programs and community services for children and adults. She is proficient in providing specialized strategies and coaching to families, educators and human service providers to support her client’s education goals and needs. Nancy is also quite skilled in the application of Michigan no-fault law in regard to auto related medical claims. Nancy’s vast experience includes Speech Pathologist, Educational Consultant, Child Daycare Director, Learning Specialist for Oakland County Commission of Economic Opportunity (OCCEO), and insurance Personal Injury Claims Adjuster. Nancy is a member of the American Brain Injury Association & Michigan Brain Injury Association, the American Speech & Hearing Association, and the Council for Exceptional Children. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education/Speech & Hearing Pathology and is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. When not in the office or serving her clients, Nancy enjoys arts & crafts, music; any out-of –door activity, researching family genealogy, cooking for family & friends, and traveling. Nancy chose to join the Feinberg team as an Educational Consultant “because I have the opportunity to use all my acquired skills and experience in the field of Special Education, Speech Pathology, Early Childhood Education, auto insurance injury claims handling, and training in Michigan No-Fault Law.” Nancy is extraordinary in advocating for children and seeking out a stronger communication to benefit them through their educational transitions. Nancy brings a collaborative nature to Feinberg Consulting as a liaison with educators and parents, identifying areas of need and manifesting quick resolutions that reduce stress and frustration for the children, educators, medical team and family.
Nancy Forsyth, RN, BSN, MS, CCM (Michigan)
Nancy’s experience includes many years in health care including catastrophic case management. She has extensive knowledge of brain injury and spinal cord injury rehabilitation, auto no fault, workers compensation and utilization review. She has served as a rehabilitation care coordinator; has performed targeted care reviews, and has spent time as a college instructor. Nancy holds a certification in Case Management and has completed coursework in Family counseling from Wayne State University. In her spare time, Nancy enjoys family activities, reading, and sewing. Patricia Kochyan, RN, BSN, CCM (Michigan)
With past experience in the durable medical equipment field, as well as in home nursing and rehabilitation, Pat is especially suited to understand the complexities of the needs of her clients; assuring that they receive the tools required to promote health and quality of life. She has experience working with geriatric patients and their families, in a private clinical setting and also with community health organizations. Pat is a member of CMSA and spends time as a volunteer at Covenant House Teen Shelter & Novi Community Schools. When she’s away from the office, Pat enjoys music, theatre, reading, and tennis. Working with Feinberg Consulting gives Pat “the opportunity to work one to one with clients and their family to educate them on their rehab needs and goals of optimal wellness.” Pat utilizes her compassion and extensive background in health education as she collaborates with physicians in advocating for client’s needs and the expectations of therapists to help achieve maximum medical improvement. Her primary goal is to see her Feinberg Consulting clients’ transition from a place of medical need to a place of emotional and physical strength.
Patricia Waldron, RN (Florida)

Patricia is a Registered Nurse and has an abundance of experience in the health care field, including executive leadership roles in Home Care, Senior Living Communities, Private Duty, and Care Management Organizations. Patricia’s specialties are new market development, strategic planning, program development, home health sales, sales and operational team development, and training. “I chose Feinberg Consulting because the heart of the organization has passion and a clear understanding of how difficult it is for their clients and families to navigate through the complex health care system. I also appreciate the fact that Feinberg Consulting identifies the needed services and implements what will help maintain the independence and dignity of its clients and their families.” Patricia is eager to deliver the message of care management to all potential consumers, providing them with resources that will be helpful to their unique situations. Rita Day, RN, BSN, CCM (Florida)
Rita has many years of comprehensive healthcare experience with working knowledge of Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Burns, and multiple Traumas with patient care management. She has special expertise in coordinating multi-physician/specialty outpatient practices, medical-legal consulting, healthcare insurance, Social Security disability benefits and Medicare application filing assistance. Rita is an excellent resource for her clients with the coordination of treatment plans and utilization of outside and community services to best serve her clients. She has an understanding of the needs for coordinating services for direct patient care for long term supported clients. She has been a student instructor at Spencerian College in the Licensed Practical Nursing program, where she provided classroom and clinical instruction. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Kentucky and is a Certified Case Manager. She is an asset to Feinberg Consulting in our Florida region.
Sharon Bryant, RN, BSN, MPH, CRRN, CCM (Michigan)
Sharon’s experience includes hospital affiliations as a medical surgical and dialysis nurse; as a cardiac and medical intensive care unit nurse; as an acute rehabilitation nurse, and as a cardiac rehabilitation nurse. Sharon has special skills as a care manager for patients with HIV and has been the chairperson for the Professional Nurse Council. Sharon is a member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, contributing author to the 2011 Core Curriculum and recipient of the 2010 Rehabilitation Nurses Foundation Grant. She is also a CMSA member. Sharon spends some of her personal time as a volunteer for the Blissfest Music Festival in Northern Michigan. She also enjoys gardening, boating, reading, walking her Beagles and camping. Sharon says that she entered a career as a care manager “to help my clients and their families on the healing journey to a fulfilling and happy life.” With her background in rehabilitation, Sharon identifies mobility issues and seeks out resolutions by helping clients to overcome their limitations. Sharon keeps her client’s dignity at the center of her care, and uses a client-centered approach to her care planning. Her priority is to assist her clients in reaching maximum independence.
Shirley Daugherty, RN, BSN, CNLCP, MSCC
Shirley graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Indiana State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She is a Certified Nurse Life Care Planner (CNLCP) and Medicare Set-Aside Certified Consultant (MSCC). Shirley’s nursing specialty is geriatrics – having worked in Long Term Care from 1994 through 2010. However, she has prepared Life Care Plans for numerous clients with injuries that include Spinal Cord Injuries, Acquired Brain Injuries, Chronic Pain, Amputations and Renal Failure requiring Kidney Transplants – from birth injuries to elderly care. Shirley is a member of the American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners (AANLCP), American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC) and Indianapolis Chapter of AALNC, and National Association of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals (NAMSAP). She is the Secretary of AANLCP. In her spare time, she keeps busy with her husband, three daughters and four cats. She enjoys traveling, football (Go Colts!) and reading.
Theresa “Terri” Hamlin, RN, CCM (Michigan)
Terri’s experience is shared between hospitals, hospice, and care management venues. She has served as a medical surgical nurse, a critical care nurse, a home health care nurse, and a hospice nurse. Terri is proficient in problem identification, intervention strategies and outcome analysis. She is also adept at medical review and analysis to provide retrospective, concurrent and prospective treatment planning. In her spare time, Terri serves her community by volunteering at a local animal shelter. Terri’s interests outside of work are her family, friends and her animals. “A friend introduced me to case management. I find satisfaction in helping clients get through the necessary paper work, educate on auto-no-fault law and obtain the quality care needed to help them progress in their recovery.”
Veronica Thomas, RN, CCP (Michigan)
Veronica has had considerable case management experience including as an independent contractor for the insurance, hospital, home care, disease management and discharge planning arenas. She has served as a mentor and preceptor for new nurses, and she has served as a mentor for the Health Sciences Motivational Interviewing Program. She has worked as a contract employee for both a geriatric case management company as well as a physician group. Veronica was also the clinical director for a private duty home care agency. Her primary focus is to serve her clients with a gentle, non-judgmental approach. Veronica believes in not only caring for her clients, but acting as an advocate that they can trust. She has developed programs for unlicensed personnel and clinical directors. She has also worked in the capacity of guardianship assessment in Wayne County. Veronica’s experiences have garnered her a physician’s honor award and Spot award. She serves her community by volunteering with a brownie troop and church group which mentors to young girls. In her free time, Veronica enjoys her hobbies which include blogging, journaling, writing, walking, sewing, yoga and a love of Pomeranian puppies.
